Glasswork – Instructor Davin Goldstein.  June 20-23.
   Davin continues to stretch his ability with the unique technique of lampworking. This technique uses a gas fueled torch to melt, mold, and shape rods and tubes of clear and colored glass. Last year the teens made pendants, marbles, fishes, ornaments, and jewelry. Besides sharing what he knows at Chop’s Teen Club, he is also teaming   up with local artist, Jennifer Balleto, in Sebastopol. His studio is located in Forestville. When asked why he wanted to participate in the artist series, he explained that he wished someone taught him the pleasure and joy of making art when he was a teen. Now that he is successful as an adult he would like to take what he knows and to share with the Chop’s teen-members.

Fiber Art/Silk Dying – Instructor Christi Corradi. June 27-30.

 Christi Corradi has a fabulous history working as an artist, an art therapist, and as the former art studio coordinator of Chop’s Teen Club!  Currently, she is practicing as an Art Therapist and teaching a clay class at Hillcrest Middle School. She has taught art to children and adults of all ages; at summer camp programs, afterschool programs and in local high schools. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fiber Arts, a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture and Installation, and a Post Master Certificate in Art Therapy.

MIG Welding – Instructors Klaus Rappensperger and Joey Castor. July 11-14.

 Klaus Rappensperger is a local fabricator, inventor, and artist.  He is the owner of WDC (a Santa Rosa based bicycle restoration company) and spearheaded the WDC team for the West End Handcar Regatta and other community events.  Growing up in his father’s European car garage, gave him the fundamentals for using tools and the love for mechanical art.  He is enthusiastic about teaching the craft of metal shape, structure, and welding.

Joey Castor received his MFA in Sculpture from Mills College.  His large-scale installations tend to focus on labor and class issues.  He lives and works in Santa Rosa.  He is a collaborating member of WDC, a prominent team of builders for the West End Handcar Regatta.
